ASEAN, or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, was established on 8 August 1967. It was formed to enhance political, economic, socio-cultural cooperation and peace among Southeast Asian countries. The ASEAN Charter, which came into force on 15 December 2008, became a legally binding agreement among the ASEAN Member States. Thus, this exhibition is held in conjunction with Malaysia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025. It serves as a platform to showcase regional identity and strengthen public understanding of the ASEAN organization. It also reflects the spirit of unity that has been the foundation of the ASEAN community for over five decades since its inception. Through this exhibition, the public has the opportunity to explore the diversity of cultures, innovations, and modern technologies that support efforts towards social and environmental sustainability. It also highlights the spirit of togetherness that strengthens relations and unites the region.

ASEAN atau Persatuan Negara-Negara Asia Tenggara ditubuhkan pada 8 Ogos 1967. Ia dibentuk untuk meningkatkan kerjasama politik, ekonomi, sosio budaya dan perdamaian di antara negara-negara di Asia Tenggara. Piagam ASEAN yang dikuatkuasakan pada 15 Disember 2008 menjadi perjanjian yang mengikat secara sah dalam kalangan Negara-negara Anggota ASEAN. Justeru, pameran ini diadakan sempena Malaysia menjadi Pengerusi ASEAN 2025. Ini menjadi platform untuk memperlihatkan identiti serantau dan memantapkan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pertubuhan ASEAN. Ia juga mencerminkan semangat perpaduan yang menjadi teras komuniti ASEAN sejak lebih lima dekad penubuhannya. Melalui pameran ini, masyarakat berpeluang meneroka kepelbagaian budaya, inovasi dan teknologi moden yang menyokong usaha kemampanan sosial dan alam sekitar. Ia juga menonjolkan semangat kebersamaan yang mengukuhkan hubungan dan menyatukan rantau ini.

Kraftangan Malaysia is organizing the Virtuosity of Craftwork – Masterpiece of National Heritage Art Exhibition, showcasing the excellence and intricacy of craft art that reflects the culture and pride of Malaysia’s heritage. Each piece is a cultural treasure and a medium for the sustainability of the nation’s craft heritage. This exhibition is a government initiative aimed at promoting unity by elevating national art, culture, language, and literature.

For the first time ever, this exhibition will be held at the National Museum from April 15 to June 30, 2025. It features masterpieces by National Craft Icons and Master Craftsmen. Let’s celebrate and uphold our national heritage crafts.
