This catalogue, produced to commemorate the 2003 Ghost Exploration Exhibition, presents contemporary and historical studies on culture and cultural practices in relation to ghosts. The catalogue approaches the subject from the anthropological perspective and focuses on beliefs related to various types of ghosts from the Malay archipelago. The explanations in the catalogue are in two languages: Malay and English.

ASEAN-COCI Special Project Commemorating ASEAN'S 41st Anniversary : An ASEAN Corner Exhibition

This exhibition is in conjunction with the 41st anniversary of ASEAN and the objective is to create awareness among public about the existence of ASEAN. The theme of the exhibition is 'A Reflection of ASEAN : Ten Nations One Community' and it showcases all the ASEAN members, will also highlight artefacts related to cultures and community of each members.

“Sleepover @ Muzium Negara” Programme In conjunction with the 51th Merdeka Celebration

Background

Muzium Negara will be organizing a “Sleepover @ Muzium Negara” in conjunction with Malaysia’s 51th Merdeka celebration.

The objective of this Sleepover programme is to expose students on the role of the museum, especially, Muzium Negara as a centre for reference, and edutainment. This Sleepover event also offers an opportunity for students to gain a better insight and understanding of the museum; not as an antiquated building that houses dead objects but as one of the leading institutions of education which conserves, preserves and exhibits priceless artefacts of history and culture and contributing to nation building.
