The Brown Booby

The brown booby is a type of shore bird species that is native to the tropical region of Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Indian Ocean. The first sighting of this species in Malaysia is recorded at Pulau Langkawi in Kedah, Pulau Jarak in Perak, and the lighthouse are at Pulau Pisang in Johor. Interestingly, there are no sighting of this species recorded in the east coast region of Malaysia.

Bowl with Cover

Bowl of coconut shell , with fretwork of delicate floral designs. The base of the bowl is of coconut shell with carved scallop shaped pattern below a series of detached circles and is attached to the bottom of the bowl using four wooden nails (paku kayu) . This bowl cover of coconut shell with fretwork of delicate floral motif. Provided with a handle, of leaf pattern, at the top centre of the cover.

Kain Limar Tenggarung

A red silk long cloth with a Centrefield of vertical bands in gold thread fashioned in the Tenggarung style and embellish with flowery shrub.The two ends of the cloth have ylang-ylang, cockerel’s tail feathers, shark teeth and fish scales motifs.A ceremonial cloth of the Terengganu royal household,circa 1900.

Quail Traps

This quail traps are semicircular cups with flatbeds, and have a snare mechanism for arranging wild quails.This collection from Kelantan and using Langkasuka motives. Bunga Tanjung motifs also decorate the panels flanking the door.

Bird

A replica of a sparrow used as a hook to hold up a sarong after a circumcision ceremony. This replica made from gold with feathers carved on its body from Kelantan circa 1800.
