The pursuit for knowledge is a continuous journey of self-development in order to achieve human’s greatest potential. Learning enables people to consistently update their knowledge and skill which are necessary to bridge the gap between skills requirement and skills availability. “ The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as we continue to live”, Mortimer Adler .The Human Capital Development Unit was established in 2001 to equip museum staff with appropriate attitude and the necessary skills and knowledge to facilitate them to perform efficiently especially in the workplace. Every year, it organizes training programmes such as courses, seminars, workshops and attachment programmes both locally and internationally in various aspects of museum studies, language, computing, soft skills and management. It is essential to maintain balance so that the staff will have the opportunities to grow personally and professionally.
