Chinese New Year Mini Exhibition

Chinese New Year celebration is one of the main celebrations for the Chinese community in Malaysia. This festival is hugely celebrated on the first day and month of the Chinese Lunar Calendar to mark the arrival of the new year, believed to bring good luck. Chinese people believed that this festive symbolizes the starting point of luck in a person's life. New Year's Eve is celebrated with traditional food feasts such as New Year cakes, mandarin limes, and Lao Shang as a symbol of well-being and prosperity. 

This mini exhibition showcases some of the important collections related to Chinese culture, heritage and arts. Visitors can expect to see Chinese calligraphy arts, traditional costumes, musical instruments and kuih mould that are commonly used in Chinese communities.
