Traditional Wedding Of The Sarawak Malay

This video documentation present the uniqueness traditional wedding of the Sarawak Malay do. Basuh gelega, a Malay drum performance, is held on the night before the dais ceremony. After the Dais ceremony is Malam Belulut, when the hands and feet of the bride are stained with henna with the accompaniment of Tar and Hadrah performance. Video contents are in bilingual.

Gordang Sambilan

Gordang Sambilan is a traditional type of music that has become popular in Selangor. Gordand Sambilan is normally played by ten people. The main instrument is a set of nine big, long drums. Other accompanying intruments are the gong, caklempong (a set of small tuned knobbed drums arrange in rows), sesayak and seruling (flute). Video contents are in bilingual.

Main Peteri

Main Peteri (also called Main Puteri or Main Teri) is a dramatic performance popular, especially, in Kelantan. The main purpose of the performance is therapeutic where Tuk Peteri and Tuk Minduk, accompanied by a band of musicians called Panjak to stimulate ans set free feelings within a sick person known as 'angin' (wind).
