Tengkolok is a type of head dress used since the period of Malay Sultanate. In Negeri Sembilan, Tengkolok is widely known as 'Destar'. The arts skills and creativity of the folder known as 'Tukang Lipat' gives variation in designing the Destar. The designs are destar 'Kacang Dua Helai Daun', 'Dendam Tak Sudah', 'Sarang Kerengga', and 'Solok Timba'. Each curve and folded arcs represents its own unique philosophy and identity.
