In conjuction with KLFestival and Coconut Grater Exibition 2008, Department of Museums Malaysia will be organizing a Coconut Grating Competition on 20th July 2008 10.00am-12.00pm at our center stage, Department of Museums Malaysia, Jalan Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. Interesting prizes awaits contestants.

Effective from 12th July 2008, the Library of the Department of Museums Malaysia will be operating on Saturdays and Sundays from 9.00am until 3.00 p.m. The library is open to all staff and the public.

The Orang Asli or Aborigines are known for their arts and cultures. Their life is full of mystic and beliefs towards nature. Although some of them have been influenced by modernity, their arts and heritage remain intact. Among the crafts that they still preserve is carving of masks and sculptures as an activity during their leisure times and used for their ritual ceremonies.
