The Aquatic World – Turtles and Endangered Species In Malaysia Exhibition organized by Malaysian Fishery Department

Location : Centre Hall, National Museum

Date: 15 - 29 November 2008

The Aquatic World – Turtles and Endangered Species In Malaysia Exhibition is an awareness program to the public, students and fishermen focusing mainly on turtles and other endangered species in Malaysia. This exhibition is organized by Malaysian Fishery Department in collaboration with Department of Museums Malaysia will be held in Centre Hall Muzium Negara starting from 15th November 2008 until 30th November 2008.

Visitors will get the opportunity to see life specimen of aquatic creatures such as baby turtles, sea horse, sea cucumber, Arowana, Temoleh and various species that will be displayed in aquariums. Apart from aquatic creatures visitors will also get the chance to see the huge skeleton of Yu Whale. Dolphins and dugongs especially brought by the Fishery Department will also be displayed.

Exhibition aside, visitors will also can get their hands on some prizes as there will be contests organized by the Fishery Department. There will also be sales on local fishery products from all over the country starting from 15th November until 18th November 2008 outside Muzium Negara.

On the 18th November a special seminar on the importance of preserving turtles and other endangered species will be held at the Auditorium of the Department of Museums Malaysia starting at 11.00 a.m and it is open to the public for free. Visit Muzium Negara this holiday season and witness this interesting exhibition that will educate as well as give awareness to all.
